The nation’s favourite 10k running event will celebrate its tenth staging on Sunday 20 May 2012.

A record 40,000 runners, celebrities and world class elite athletes will descend on the streets of Manchester, with the whole event broadcast live on BBC television and the build up live on Key 103.

Over the years, tens of thousands of spectators and a live TV audience have witnessed the world’s greatest distance runner Haile Gebrselassie win the Bupa Great Manchester Run on an unprecedented four occasions, with Britain’s Jo Pavey winning the women’s event twice.

It’s part of a great weekend of sport in the city, which includes the Bupa Junior and Mini Great Manchester Run, and the Great CityGames Manchester.

Key 103 is proud to be supporting this years Bupa Junior & Mini Great Manchester Run.

The Bupa Junior and Mini Great Manchester Run will take place at Eastlands on Saturday 19 May 2012.

The Mini event covers 1.5km and is suitable for children aged 3-8 years - all runners may be accompanied by an adult. The Junior event is 2.5km and suitable for those aged 9-15 years, with adult accompaniment optional.

Once again there will be a host of 'Come and Try It' activities on offer throughout the day, giving children the chance to try new sports including football, streetdance and mini golf.

All Junior, Mini and adult runners will receive a t-shirt, medal and finisher's pack.
