Almost everything about The Pierces’ gorgeous new single ‘Glorious’ is steeped in the warm glow of days gone by. Musically the song has an enduring Mamas & Papas vibe that harks back to those halcyon days of the late Sixties while the video, shot in hazy soft focus, visually transports us into a hippie club. The imitation well-worn 7” vinyl sleeve artwork only adds further to the effect. Much more than nostalgia, however, at the core ‘Glorious’ is a timeless, beautifully crafted song complete with exquisite joint harmonies from sisters Catherine and Alison Pierce. Simply stunning.
