Wage increases in the Premier League continued to rise - more so in our City and mistakes in exam papers resulted in anger across the region

The week started with the red side of Manchester celebrating their successful premiership campaign
We spoke exclusively to Big Brother's Imogen Thomas, there was more reaction to Uniteds vicotry parade and an investigation was laucnhed after confidential details of almost 200 patients in NHS Bury were wrongly taken.
Police in the region said there was no half measures for drink drivers in the region and vandals went on a killing spree in Whythenshawe.
A concert website told Take That fans they would not get their tickets and the number of people stealing petrol rises.
The week ended with the UK's biggest ever tour returning home to Manchester. To celebrate this Key103 became TakeThat 103.

The father of a Salford woman who was murdered by a man she met on a social network site is calling for new laws for those in violent and dangerous relationships.
Detectives were looking through a number of leads trying to identify a mystery murder victim in Manchester

Police officers in our region accused the goverment of introducing a 'kick a cop' policy and there was growing calls for the justice secretary to resign after his views on rape.
Tempers flared on Twitter between Wayne Rooney and a Liverpool fan and police warned people to be vigilant after a man broke into a young mums home and raped her

The daughter of ex footballer Colin Hendry launched a drive for natural beauty after the death of her mother and an investigation was launched after a new born baby was found by a roadside in Rochdale
The mother of the baby was found and the family of a Bury woman who died weeks after giving birth in a Manchester Hosiptial have told us of their loss
The week ended with social workers slammed for missing the oppertunity to save the life of a 12 year old girl from Salford and City fans were warned to behave ahead of the F.A Cup final.

The week started with the death of one of the world's most wanted men
There was reaction around the world to the death of Osama Bin Laden and Anti-Terror Police in Manchester began to make arrests
There was mixed reaction over the possible release of a photo of Bin Laden and detectives gave more informtation into the murder of a Manchester University lecturer in Northampton
The American President confirmed the photo of Bin Laden would not be released and Police stepped up the hunt for a Manchester prisoner who escaped from a prison van.
The week ended with the Lib Dems crushed in the ballot box and the father of a Manchester man killed in the 7/7 bombing's in london spoke about Osama Bin Laden and the results of the invesitgation into the bombings

After the long easter weekend the week started with Winnie Johnson, the mother of murder victim Keith Bennett, pleading to Ian Brady for the truth of her son's body after being diagnosed with cancer and the independent police complaint commision launched an investigation after a police car chase crash in Hyde.

The week started with reaction to City reaching their first F.A Cup final in 35 years and United defender Rio Ferdinand's stalker was in court.
The hunt contined for the stalker of Rio Ferdinand and detectives were investigation shootings in Salford.
Rio Ferdinands stalker was back in court. A man from Hyde was jailed for manslaughter and a baby lamb was found in a bin.
There was outrage in Bolton after the ban on road memorials.
The week ended with statistics that teenage girls in britain were the worse binge drinkers in Europe.

The latest crime figures show that Manchester is losing its gun crime label and police were appealing for witnesses after a local soldiers grave was destroyed in Warrington.
The Fukushima powerplant in Japan joined chernoybl as the worlds most severe nuclear incident. An independant investigation is taking place after a Greater Manchester Hospital appeared on television and an investigation went underway after the body of a woman was found in a fire in Manchester.
Police were waiting for test results after the body of a woman was found in a burning house in Manchester and police in Greater Manchester were specially trained about stalking.
Police were warning they won't be taking their eye off the ball whilst City face United at Wembley and the wife of a royal navy officer from Wigan who was shot dead onboard a nuclear submarine has spoken to us for the first time.

A circus was secretly filmed after claims of cruelty to an elephant and health bosses in the region claimed emergency care will not suffer in a new A&E shake up.
Activists welcomed the news a local circus elephant was retiring to a home at Longleat Safari Park and parents from across the region will get the chance to do criminal checks on those who work or have contact with their children.

It's the second week of the 2011 review and here are the highlights this week ...
The week started with a computer engineer from Rochadle jailed.
Colin Blanchard was at the centre of one of Britain's worst paedophile rings.
Investigations continued in Rochdale as part of an operation into alleged sexual grooming of children.
It's claimed over a dozen girls, aged between 13 and 15, have been targeted.
Australlia were hit with devastating floods in Brisbane.
Thousands of residents were forced to evacuate. Many are people from our region who emigrated to start a new life down under .
Steve and Jenni Coulter emigrated three years ago to the Brisbane suburb of Ipswich, which was swamped by the Brisbane River.
The parents of a three year old girl who died from swine flu while visiting relatives in Stockport are urging ministers to allow all children to be vaccinated.
Lana Ameen died two days after becoming ill with what appeared to be a cold on Christmas Eve.
Lana was rushed to Stepping Hill hospital and later transfered to Alder Hey but couldn't be saved.
Thousands of jobs are at risk at Manchester City Council.
The authority says it needs to reduce it's cost by nearly nine percent this year and that would mean they would need to lose 17 per cent of their work force.
Labour won the Oldham East and Saddleworth by-election with a substantially increased majority.
Debbie Abrahams polled three and a half thousand more votes than the Lib Dem candidate who was second.
The Tories were a distant third, having lost more than seven thousand votes.
Tour operators cancelled trips to Tunisia because of violence

It's the start of a new year and already there is plenty going on in our region.
Here are the highlights so far....
Warrington born Oscar-nominated actor, Pete Postlethwaite died in hospital at the age of 64 following a lengthy illness. He appeared in films like the Usual Suspects and Inception.
The cost-of-living in the region shot-up as the VAT rise came into force this week – increasing by 2.5% to 20%. Labour leader, Ed Miliband, was in Oldham warning families that they will be hit to the tune of £400 a year because of the rise.
Prime Minister, David Cameron, and Deputy PM, Nick Clegg, joined the Labour leader in visiting the region ahead of the Oldham East and Saddleworth by-election.
Greater Manchester hospitals are creating extra bed space after intensive care units have been in-undated with serious cases of flu. A total of 50 people have died from the virus across the UK and over 100 people in the North West are currently in critical care.
An inquest heard how a 19-year-old soldier from Stalybridge was killed during ‘friendly fire’ in Afghanistan. Sean Dawson was shot near his base in Helmand Province on Valentine’s Day.
England won the Ashes in Australia after 24 years. The visitors beat the Aussies in the final test by an innings and 83 runs wrapping up the series 3 matches to 1.
Former MP for Bury North, David Chaytor, was found guilty of three counts of false accounting totally the tune of £22,650. He was ordered to serve 18 months in prison.

2010 was a busy year for news. There's been a new Prime Minister, an ash cloud and student protests amongst other things. But what has happened closer to home?

The biggest story of the year, though, was the Irlam gas blast - and from the early reports right through to the reactions of those involved and then sending the families on a Christmas getaway they'll never forget, our news team worked tirelessly to bring you the latest updates from the scene along with the breakfast show's Mike and Chelsea, who raised thousands for the people that lost their homes in the explosion.
